I’m sure that I am like most owners of web design firms when I admit to often drooling over the websites of other firms. I think this is healthy – as long as there is a positive outcome and you don’t end up throwing your Macbook out the window because some company in Stockholm has created something so utterly perfect you’ve realised that you’ll never match up!

Here is a list of companies that are on our radar purely because of their awesome websites – we know nothing about them, couldn’t recommend them but we love their work.

  This is a Danish website and doesn’t it show. Just like the furniture that Denmark is famous for this uber-elegant website exudes a timeless quality. We think it will still look good it 10 years time – if we’re still using website then that is.We particularly like the use of images and overlaid text. The shallow depth of focus image on the home page with simple text is effortlessly cool.

  This website has been our benchmark for ages. We love its simplicity and playfulness.On highlight for us is the way in which the work is present in the Work section. Each case study tells a succinct story with words and images.

  This one really appeals to our inner geeks. We love the precision and implied nerdiness – an I mean that in a really good way!Take a look at their videos – particularly the review of 2015 – this very nearly tipped me over to the throwing my Macbook stage.

  We had to include one ‘out-there’ example and this is it. We’re not quite sure what is going on but we love it.The retro, geography text book vibe is beautifully done and the case study pages are masterpieces.
